Drawing with ink and watercolour by candlelight in the intimate space of the Paddock Studio in Lewes, a peaceful evening of drawing from a simple still life, with a brush on paper, using the uncertainty of watercolour to reflect the ambiguity of the fading light. 

Drawing in the dark, by candlelight only, can be a very exciting, liberating experience, allowing you to be totally immersed in the process. Our experience of seeing is what we draw from, and changing the conditions can subtly, or radically, shift our perspective, like drawing with a blindfold. Each workshop will start in the daylight, with guided meditation and practical warm ups. As the light fades into dusk and eventually night, we carry on drawing, enjoying the experience of letting go. At the end of each workshop we join together again in the light to share our work, our thoughts, and a warming meal.
