This will be a unique opportunity to explore drawing through the body, and the body through drawing, in a mindful and playful way. Immerse yourself in process and place, held in the space by 2 very experienced practitioners who have come together to share with you their own love of this way of working.
Marina has a background in dance and movement and is a Body-Mind Entering Teacher and Practitioner. Katie is a visual artist and who’s practice and teaching has grown to include meditation movement and improvisation. Both come from the same belief that creativity can be expressed in many ways, and that all forms of art practice in some way involve the body, the breath, and being present.
We will improvise and respond to whatever the day brings - the weather, you the participants, the energy - listening to the conversation between movement, voice, spontaneous drawing and performative actions.
We will explore the local landscape, and make work in relation to the nearby beach and sea, drawing connections and inspirations from its organic forms and innate rhythms, its unpredictability and changeable nature.
There will be guided exercises and meditations to introduce each section of the day, with plenty of space to breathe and move/respond at your own pace. Let the day be fluid, lets see what emerges from the deep blue sea!
