DAILY PAINTINGS
I started doing daily paintings of everyday objects in 2017, whilst artist in residence at a 5 star hotel in Tuscany, painting my breakfast each day. It has become an ongoing series I return to on and off over the years. Each painting is just 12cm square, painted in situ, taking no more than half an hour. After the painting is completed, I photograph it, next to the objects it depicts. To me, the work is here in this duplication, seeing the reality side by side with a painted version of itself.
Each of the works are Watercolour on Paper, 12 x 12 cm and part of an ongoing series of paintings
